What is antifragility?

Antifragility refers to the ability of systems, organizations or individuals to grow stronger through exposure to stress, variation, error and disorder. Unlike fragile systems that break down under pressure, antifragile entities exploit these challenges to grow and improve. This concept, popularized by Nassim Nicholas Taleb in his book Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder (2015), goes beyond resilience or robustness; it describes a state in which uncertainty and shocks are not only endured but actually lead to positive development and strengthening.
