What is a shareholders register?
A shareholders' register, also known as a share register, is a list kept by the company containing the names and addresses of shareholders, together with the amount paid by each of them.
This register also indicates whether the shares are pledged or subject to usufruct.
Example: "New shareholder register becomes publicly accessible - A publicly accessible register of major shareholders of private companies in the Netherlands is coming. This measure, resulting from a European directive to combat money laundering, has led to objections from family businesses due to concerns about privacy."
