What is antifragility?
Antifragility refers to the ability of systems, organizations, or individuals to become stronger through exposure to stress, variation, errors, and disorder. Unlike fragile systems that break down under pressure, antifragile entities use these challenges to grow and improve. This concept, popularized by Nassim Nicholas Taleb in his book Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder (2015), goes beyond resilience or robustness; it describes a state in which uncertainty and shocks are not only endured, but lead to positive development and strengthening.
