What is an active participant?
An active participant is an employee who is still employed and actively accruing a pension through a pension plan. This term is often used to distinguish between workers who are still contributing to their pensions and those who are no longer actively participating, such as retirees or sleepers.Example: "The decline in the number of active participants is due to demographic trends. The generation born after 1946 is retiring, reducing the group of active participants."
